Job Summary

Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of written descriptions on the E-Commerce website by driving the development and execution of all online business initiatives through the conscientious application of Sporting Life standards to achieve our mission statement:   To be a retailer with Passion, Knowledge, Integrity committed to a relentless desire to improve our performance in creating the highest quality experience for all Customers and Staff.

Essential Functions

• Creates descriptions for online product and edits staff contributions
• Liaise with Buyers and Vendors regarding E-Commerce content
• Ensures consistency in writing/branding and product templates
• Reacts quickly to managing marketing/advertising needs (i.e.  writing product descriptions for upcoming promotions)
• Utilize Purchase Orders to determine what product, based on minimum quantities, will be entered onto the site and work with staff to collect product
• Responsible for securing high-end merchandise
• Produces weekly status reports for key stakeholders
• Provides excellent customer service to Sporting Life’s internal and external customers
• Promotes Sporting Life House Philosophy in all aspects of the business
• Performs other related tasks, duties or assignments as required

Skill Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, Internet Explorer, AS400 and In-House Access Database
• Prior experience in e-commerce including retail business and fulfillment required
• Excellent communication with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy at all levels
• High energy level with a strong work ethic
• Understanding and identification with the basic goals of the organization
• Assists in communicating to customers when inquiries are made
• Strong analytical ability coupled with creative problem-solving skills
• Must be able to lift 5 – 10 lbs
• Must be able to handle repetitive tasks (i.e. typing, prolonged computer use, prolonged sitting)
• Excellent organizational skills to prioritize workload in order to achieve results in a constantly changing environment
• Strong sense of urgency in dealing with business needs
